The State of Student Aid and Higher Education in Missouri

This session will provide a comprehensive look at Trellis’ newly released State of Student Aid and Higher Education in Missouri (SOSA). As a reference report, the SOSA provides data on a variety of topics including demographic projections, college preparedness, college costs, financial aid, and higher education policy. Attendees will learn about the information in the report and how it can be used to inform policy and programs for student financial aid. Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN) will share how it used the SOSA with its networks to develop its affordability strategy.

Preparing for the New FAFSA

Cost: Free for MASFAP members

This session will provide an overview of changes to the new FAFSA and how Missouri partners are preparing for it, a communications campaign to increase awareness of changes, and student assistance to support completion once the FAFSA opens in December. The session will also include an overview of Missouri’s FAFSA completion data and how progress will be monitored.

Scholarship Providers Network
Wednesday, November 1, 2023. 2-3 P.M. (Zoom)
Cost: Free for MASFAP members

This session will introduce the new Missouri Scholarship Providers Network, a forum connecting diverse scholarship providers across the state. Comprised of scholarship providers and scholarship funders, the Network’s goal is to maximize the role of scholarships in helping students pay for college. The session will include highlighting opportunities to bring together financial aid directors and scholarship providers together to discuss how to meet their mutual goals of making college more affordable.

MASFAP Annual Conference
November 6-8, 2023. Lodge of the Four Seasons
Cost: $350 registration for MASFAP members + optional lodging ($122/night on-site). Registration fee is waived for additional institutional members if the Director attends.

MASFAP looks forward to welcoming members back to the Lodge of the Four Seasons November 6-8 for an exciting conference during this time of unprecedented change. This year members can take advantage of 2 NASFAA credential opportunities, general sessions on FAFSA Simplification, breakout sessions focused on technical and soft-skill training, and entertaining evening events that promise to be inspiring, engaging and full of fun.

The registration fee is $350 per attendee. If the director of your institution's aid office attends and pays the registration fee, the fee is waived for all other members from that school. Lodging and transportation are still the responsibility of the institution or association. Institutional members are encouraged to confirm their director's intent to attend before registering.
